Who We Are

Common Sense for the Valley serves to defend the quality of life we enjoy in the Shenandoah Valley and to cultivate a better future.

We believe we must preserve and protect our agricultural and historic resources by concentrating development and roads instead of allowing unrestrained growth.

We believe our schools must educate students in virtuous citizenship, nurture innovation and creativity, and treat all students fairly, without sidelining and ignoring anyone.

We believe local governments should listen to the people and be responsive to their concerns. Furthermore, local governments should conduct the public’s business openly, and make their deliberations and decisions accessible to residents.
